of Teacher Geek activities allows for core curriculum applications.
Reading for information and to follow directions is necessary (e.g. see
the Electronic Bug Lab). Measurement, application of
formulas, ratios, coefficients, and time are just some mathematical
examples to be found. Communication skills both oral and written abound
with data collection, analysis, presentations and evidence based
argumentation for design ( e.g. see Crazy Contraption Student Portfolio). Experimentation
with friction, gear/pulley ratios and material selection are just three of
